CR8 Robotics Program
The CR8 Robotics program is a new unique class available at Leaders Academy. With exclusive programs offered every Friday, students can learn how robotics work while learning to build their own.
The primary students program is held from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, and the secondary students time is from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. These two hour classes are longer than the usual time of 1.5 hours.
With small class sizes, it allows for more one on one learning. There is a maximum of 8 students in the primary class, and 5 students in the secondary class. Each student will also have their own individual kit to work on.
Key Highlights and Benefits of the Robotics Program
Social Development
Students will work both together and on their own towards the same goals. They learn the behaviours needed to work effectively in a team environment
Problem Solving
Sometimes when working with small parts and electronics not everything works as planned. This creates problems and helps students to brainstorm a solution on how to fix an issue
Mental Development
Building and creating robots faces a number of challenges and questions. It can help assist with learning to answer different types of questions
Physical Development
Hand-eye coordination is a primary development when working with robotics. It requires handling small and delicate parts which can help assist in hand-eye cooridination development
English
The program is delivered in the English language and sometimes uses terms and vocabulary that may not always be found inside a classroom
Grade Appropriate
Classes are split into primary and secondary groups
Primary Class: Fridays 3:00pm-5:00pm
Secondary Class: Fridays 5:30pm-7:30pm
Small Class Sizes
In the Primary Classes there is a maximum of 8 students per class
The Secondary class has a maximum of 5 Students
Individual Kits
Each student will be given their own robotic kit to work with so they can concentrate and learn from their own work
